1. Statement

EPOCH-X® operated by INHYPE Corporation (hereinafter referred to as the "Company"), recognizes the importance of maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and security of customer's personal information (hereinafter referred to as "Personal Information"). The Company processes Personal Information in accordance with the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. of the Republic of Korea (hereinafter referred to as "Information and Communications Network Act"), the "Personal Information Protection Act", related laws and regulations, as well as in line with the principles included in INHYPE Corporation’s code of ethics and general operating rules, together with the regulations of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Collecting Personal Information

In order to provide services, INHYPE collects the following personal information. The personal information collected by INHYPE includes both mandatory and optional items. Mandatory items are essential for service provision, while optional items are intended to offer useful and better services tailored to customer demands. There is no restriction on the use of services even if you do not agree to the optional items.
Personal information is collected through various means including our website, in writing, by fax, telephone, email, and through event participation. Personal information is only collected through our online shopping mall (including websites), brand homepages, and stores contracted with INHYPE. During the course of using our services or in the process of business handling, service usage records, access logs, cookies, access IP addresses, payment records, and records of improper use may be generated and collected.
  • A. Information collected during the use of our services and at the time of membership registration includes: 
    At the time of membership registration: name, date of birth, gender, login ID, password, home telephone number, mobile phone number, email, and for registrants under the age of 14, information of their legal guardian. During service use: address, payment information

    Collected through the website, written forms, bulletin boards, emails, event entries, delivery requests, telephone, fax, and information collection tools.

3. Purposes of Collecting Personal Information

Customer's personal information may be processed for the following purposes, as necessary for the provision of services: 
  • Responding to all customer requests and managing customer relations. 
  • Fulfilling customer's product purchases and conducting all related management activities (such as contract management, financial transactions, shipping of products or invoices, purchasing and payment of goods, billing and litigation management, fraud prevention), and complying with all applicable legal obligations. 
  • Providing after-sales services (including repair services). 
  • Sending newsletters via email about related products and events of INHYPE as a result of service subscription.
  • Verifying the identity of registered members and providing customized customer services and post-sales services based on that; providing exclusive services and benefits to registered members.
  • Marketing: Providing information and promotional activities related to events, advertising materials, catalogs, and event invitations for EPOCH-X® and other brands, products, and services of INHYPE.
  • Profiling: Conducting research, surveys, statistical analysis, and market research related to preferences for EPOCH-X® and other brands, products, and services of INHYPE to provide customized services.

4. Delegation of Personal Information

When entrusting the processing of personal information, the service provider's compliance with personal information protection directives, prohibition of providing to third parties, and responsibility in case of incidents are clearly defined through an entrustment contract, and the contents of the said contract are stored in writing or electronically. When customers pay for products, their credit card information (including credit card number and other payment information) is provided to our payment service provider who processes payment information. 
INHYPE does not store or retain customer's credit card information and does not use it directly. For specific details, please refer to the below list of specific processing tasks entrusted and other related information and service provider list. Personal information transmitted to service providers is used according to appropriate technical and administrative methods that comply with the regulatory requirements under relevant laws. Service providers will not use the personal information for purposes other than those entrusted and will retain it only for the period necessary for the performance of the entrusted tasks. 
List of Service Providers:
  • Third-party service providers related to services provided on the website, particularly all IT service suppliers, consultants, website hosting and maintenance service providers, and other third parties processing personal data on behalf of the company, and all postal and payment service providers that must intervene to fulfill and execute all orders placed through the website or more generally in relation to your contact with the company. The company may transfer personal information to third parties only when necessary to provide products or services to you. In such cases, the third party may not use this information beyond the scope necessary to provide you with goods and services. 
  • Third-party subcontractors providing products, services, or information you requested and all customer services. These third parties include telecommunications operators as well as payment and fraud management service providers. 
  • Third-party subcontractors providing customer service or interest-based advertising based on information collected through your use of the website. Individuals or entities required by law or judicial order. The company may disclose your information to third parties if it is reasonably necessary to comply with the law, protect our rights, or prevent fraud or abuse. If we receive requests for information for law enforcement or national security purposes, especially if vague, overly broad, or unlawful, we carefully examine such requests. If the request is legally permissible and reasonably practicable, we may notify you that your information has been requested. The evaluation of the request or decision to notify is at our sole discretion and in no case shall the company be liable from a civil, criminal, or administrative perspective.

5. Retention

The personal information provided by customers is securely stored during the period of receiving services from INHYPE. In principle, this information is retained for seven years from the date of the last purchase, or until the customer withdraws consent, unless there is a legal obligation to preserve the information based on other laws. Once the retention period has elapsed or the purpose of use has been achieved, unless required to retain personal information under the following related laws, personal information printed on paper is destroyed either by shredding or incineration. Personal information stored in electronic file format is destroyed using technical methods that make the records non-recoverable.
  • Records related to contracts or withdrawal of subscription: 5 years (Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Etc.)
  • Records related to payment and supply of goods: 5 years (Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Etc.) 
  • Records related to consumer complaints or dispute resolution: 3 years (Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Etc.) 
  • Records related to website visits: 3 months (Protection of Communications Secrets Act) 
  • Personal information related to newsletter services: Until the subscription to the service is canceled. 
  • Purchase information: 7 years from the date of purchase

6. Your Rights

Customers can view or correct their registered personal information at any time. If you wish to access or correct your personal information, you can do so directly in the store or on the website, or contact the personal information protection officer via email for assistance. If customers have an online customer account, they can access, modify, and update their information by logging into 'My Account' and correctly adjusting the details. Customers have the right to withdraw their consent at any time, either by sending a letter to INHYPE or through the "unsubscribe" link included in all of INHYPE's commercial electronic communications, using any other appropriate procedure provided by INHYPE. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. 
We inform our customers that they or their legal guardians (if the customer is under the age of 14 according to domestic law, or a higher age depending on the country of residence) have the right to request information about whether their personal data is being processed and the nature of that processing, as well as the right to rectify, delete, oppose the processing of their personal data, and/or to transfer their data to another controller. 
If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates the GDPR, Information and Communications Network Act, or Personal Information Protection Act, you have the right to object or take legal action under the relevant laws.

7. Installation, Operation, and Refusal of Automatic Personal Information Collection Devices

Browsing Data 

The computer systems and software procedures used for the operation of websites acquire some personal data (log files) during their normal operation. The transmission of this information is a necessity for the use of Internet communication protocols. This information is not collected to be associated with identified data subjects, but by its nature, it could, through processing and combination with data held by third parties, allow users to be identified. 
This information includes the IP addresses used by customers to visit the website, the domain names of their computers, the URIs (Uniform Resource Identifiers) of the requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the response given by the server (successful, error, etc.), and other parameters related to the user's operating system and computer environment. This information is used only for obtaining anonymous statistical information on website use and for checking its correct functioning.

8. Technical and Administrative Measures

To prevent the loss, theft, leakage, forgery, and destruction of personal information, we implement reasonable technical and managerial security measures as required by current relevant laws, including the Personal Information Protection Act and the Information and Communications Network Act. In particular, customers' personal information is processed only for the collected purposes, using appropriate electronic or automated means, computer tools, or manual, hardcopy methods. The security and confidentiality of personal information processing are ensured through appropriate methods to prevent changes, cancellation, destruction, unauthorized access, processing without consent, and the use of personal information for purposes other than those intended.
The personal information of customers is processed within the scope of authority legally granted to INHYPE's internal employees according to their respective duties.
